- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons neutral-flavored oil, like peanut or canola oil
- 1½ pounds sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- ½ tablespoon sesame seeds
- 4 scallions, chopped
Instructions
Serves 4–6
In a small saucepan, place the honey, soy sauce, water, corn starch, red pepper flakes and salt. Whisk until the corn starch is completely mixed in. Bring to a boil and let thicken slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
Add oil to a large skillet on medium-high. Heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the oil is hot. Add the meat and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it is cooked through. Stir in the garlic and ginger. Add the sauce and stir until thoroughly mixed in. Remove from heat.
Place on a platter and sprinkle sesame seeds and scallions on top. Serve warm over rice.
