Michele Lankford started her restaurant career “front of the house.” Over the years, she developed a passion for cooking and found her true calling: using foods and garnishes that she planted and picked herself to enhance the food and its presentation. In 2000, she opened her restaurant, Thyme of Grace, above an antique store in downtown Mishawaka, Indiana. The location has changed, but the restaurant still has the fingerprints of past experiences: mismatched plates, silverware and napkins; raised gardens around the back of the restaurant; and seasonal food.
