Spicy Cucumber Margarita

From Cinco International

Refreshing and delivering the perfect amount of heat, this margarita is made for warm summer nights. The cucumber jalapeño mixture comes together quickly and makes enough to serve a large crowd. It’s infused with Tajín—a popular Mexican seasoning blend with chili, lime and salt—enhancing the mild heat and punchy citrus while balancing the sweet agave and tequila. The mixture can be added to each cocktail to your heart’s content, depending on how spicy the jalapenos are and what heat you prefer to sip.

Cucumber-Jalapeño Mix (Serves 15–20)

1 large cucumber

2 large or 3 small jalapeños

¼ cup Tajín

Margarita (Serves 1)

1 ounce fresh lime juice

½ ounce agave syrup

1 ounce Triple Sec

1½ ounces Jimador Tequila Reposado

½–1 tablespoon Cucumber Jalapeño Mix

Tajín rim

Cut the cucumber and jalapeños into large pieces and place in a food processor along with the Tajín. Pulse and chop until the mixture resembles a chunky salsa. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator until time to serve. This can be prepped up to 2 days in advance.

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the lime juice, agave, Triple Sec, tequila and the cucumber-jalapeño mixture. Cover and shake for about 10 seconds or until the shaker is too cold to hold. Double strain into a cocktail glass rimmed with Tajín and filled with ice.
