Baked Cranberries with Cider and Ginger

Baked Cranberries with Cider and Ginger

This is a savory, tart change from traditional cranberry sauce. Add more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter sauce. It keeps well in the refrigerator and can be made the day before the big celebration.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1–3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¾ cup apple cider
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1-inch piece fresh or frozen ginger, grated*

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients in a baking dish. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
*If possible, pick up some local ginger from Clay Bottom Farm in Goshen, Indiana, and freeze it to use for your Thanksgiving meal.
