Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay Celebration Day

The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay was created to honor Hoosiers who have demonstrated exceptional public service, achievement, acts of heroism and/or volunteer service to their neighborhood, community, region or state.

Thirty three torchbearers were selected to carry the torch in LaPorte County on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The torch enters the county around 2pm coming from St. Joseph County. It will move through Rolling Prairie, LaPorte and Michigan City. There will be a mid-day party at Plaza 618 in LaPorte and a final celebration at North Point Pavilion in Michigan City’s Washington Park. This will be a fun, exciting day celebrating Indiana’s 200th Anniversary and you are invited!

LaPorte Party - The LaPorte party will be from noon to 4pm.  Local stores and restaurants will food and soft drinks for the party at Plaza 618. This is Trick & Treat day as will from 1pm-4pm.

Michigan City Party - The Michigan City party will be celebrated at North Point Pavilion from 5pm-10pm.  Food, drink and live music will be provided.
